Education and Teaching

Julia was lucky to have wonderful, talented teachers throughout her life and career. She decided to continue this tradition and took it upon herself to become a teacher and pass on the knowledge and skill that she gained throughout the years.

Julia traveled the world giving her successful masterclasses (at the Manhattan School of Music USA, Nueva Escuela Argentina de Arpa, all over Russia, Europe, and Asia.)
She searches for talents and chooses the students who are ready and willing to work relentlessly to realize their dreams. Many of them achieve great results. Marina Fradin was a prize-winner at The 2018 International Harp Contest in Israel. Another young and talented student, Sarah Elkind, won the Prize of the Third International Harp Contest in Jerusalem in the under-18’s age group in December 2017 and Third Prize at the International Festival-Contest, "Music of the World", in the 12-15-year-olds in Jerusalem in May 2018.

As a teacher at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, Julia arranges for her students to play with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She believes that this provides not only a very important practical stage experience but also a unique opportunity to play with one of the best orchestras in the world.

In collaboration with the KeyNote Music Education Program of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Julia Rovinsky has organized two Harp Days, in which a total of 150 young harpists took part and played together with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
