Julia Rovinsky is the Principal Harpist with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director of The International Harp Contest in Israel
and Professor of Harp at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv University.
Born in St. Petersburg, Julia Rovinsky graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Academy of Music.
Since immigrating to Israel in 1991, Julia Rovinsky has become a central figure on the Israeli and international concert scene.
Throughout her career, she received multiple awards and prizes displaying her immense talent and passion for the craft.
In 1988, she was a prize winner of the National Harp Competition in Moscow. In 2002 she won the Prime Minister Prize for best performance of Israeli music.
The State of Israel honoured Julia Rovinsky by printing a special postage stamp with her portrait, showcasing her contribution to the arts.
Julia appears regularly as a soloist and with many chamber music ensembles and has taken part in many festivals in Israel and around the world.
Julia Rovinsky has recorded and published several CD and Albums for
EnT-T, Meridian, DUX, New World Records and others, with both solo harp and chamber music.
In recent years, Julia's harp arrangements have been performed at various harp competitions. She strives to enrich the harp repertoire and to show the world the enormous potential that this instrument provides. These arrangements are published by the Vanderbilt Music Company, HarpMasters Academy and Edition Svitzer.
